We live in a world crying out for hope. In our homes, on our block, in our school, in our city, in our state, in our world, people are starving for hope, literally dying from it.

In a classroom at Woodlawn Middle our family/ team is building a movement of hope, so be on the lookout for your child’s efforts in furthering their own personal hope movement. Every Friday students are given a homework assignment based on the movement of hope we choose to grow in each of our hearts and lives. Below are some of the questions we asked the students.
 
What is one thing you think would give your whole block hope?

• If I just tell them to stop fighting – Christina
• Something that would give my block hope is if they knock down the playground in the back of my house and rebuild it so that the playground will not hurt anybody else – Shannon 
• One thing I think that would give my block hope is to keep clean and quiet. – Jazmyne 
• If we all get together and clean the neighborhood and celebrate it – Briona 
• One thing that I think would give my whole block hope is we can put trash cans on the corner. Get rid of the people that sell drugs from around here – Tyshera 
• Helping pick up trash – Justin

What is the one thing that the world needs the most?

Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were leaders of the “Civil Rights Movement.” What do you think the “Hope Movement” is?

Does the world need hope?
