The Problem: Cycle of Hopelessness
Pakistan, the sixth most populous country in the world, borders India, China, Afghanistan, Iran, and the Arabian Sea. Due in large part to a lack of education and a low average family income, approximately 3.6 million children under the age of 14 work, mostly in exploitative and hazardous labor. The official literacy rate in Pakistan is listed as 50 percent; however, 63 percent of males are literate while only 36 percent of women can read and write. The primary school attendance rate for males is 62 percent and 11 percent lower for females. That figure drops to 23 percent and 18 percent, respectively, by the time children reach secondary school age. Pakistani children face poor access to education and health facilities. Nearly 38 percent of children under age 5 are critically underweight.
Solution
Generation of Transformation Outreach Initiative
The Hope Movement Pakistan Initiative has a vision to form a generation of transformation breaking the cycle of poverty, discrimination, violence, and hopelessness through social and spiritual Evangelism, Development & Relief of marginalized and impoverished communities. God has chosen to have us work with Him to bring justice to victims of oppression, for we are His hands. The truth is that He calls all people to seek justice for the abused and suffering in our world. God’s people often do not understand that social work goes hand and hand with spiritual outreach. You can’t have one without the other. Jesus always combined social and spiritual outreach together. He would not only preach to the people about spiritual salvation but he would feed the hungry, heal their bodies, and pull them out of the life of prostitution, addiction, and oppression. Reaching out to people to only help them spiritually is like seeing a person drowning in the ocean. You are standing on the shoreline with a life raft, and you say to them here is your salvation now come to me, and I will give you the life raft and you will be saved. God’s people often watch people drowning in hopelessness and they stand in the distance of their comfort zone saying I know you’re hurting, here is your salvation, Jesus; all you have to do is come to us, or we tell them about what can save them, Jesus, but we leave them in their social situation and wonder why that person could not maintain their walk with God. They could not because we informed them about salvation, but abandoned them in the crack house, the brothel, the street, the abusive marriage, or the poverty consumed life. We rescued them spiritually but did nothing to help them socially, creating a never ending cycle of hopelessness. The moment we change our mentality and methods is the moment when we will see a world transformed.
Located in Islamabad, Pakistan, the Generation of Transformation Initiative has been developed to impact five strategic areas; unifying ministries, non-profits, and community members as one to work together to bring change, provide resources and encouragement to the persecuted and impoverished Christian population, youth development to raise up a new generation of leaders, stabilizing the family structure, and community outreach to all faiths, inspiring nationwide transformation. In order to inspire long lasting transformation, The Hope Movement mission teams unify, train and empower local churches and ministries providing resources and collaborating together as movement of hope in mission activities to ignite a spiritual revolution of transformation opening the window of heaven to flood the streets with the presence of God, pouring hope into the lives of many. Our Haven of Hope Outreach center provides spiritual and emotional nourishment through education and counseling to guide youth and adults, heal their inner wounds, empower them with essential knowledge and life-skills, inspiring them to pursue their life’s purpose, understanding that poverty, violence and persecution is not their destiny, it is only an obstacle to overcome to make their dreams into a reality.

Our vision is to form a new generation of transformation by reaching out to youth searching for guidance. Youth attend our weekly one-on-one and group education and counseling sessions which are conducted by our counselors and teachers.

Computer skills are necessary in today’s world, whether preparing for college or the workplace. To meet this challenge, we offer technology training. Students access interactive virtual instruction that enhances and extends the teaching environment.

Our costumed designed leadership curriculum is provided to youth enrolled in the Haven of Hope Center, developing a mission mentality and incorporating evidence-based guidance, providing youth with an inspiring approach to shaping their hearts and minds by giving them a deep understanding of their life’s purpose.

We also offer two unique programs for adults to help them become better role-models, parents, and leaders in their community.

- Parents of Purpose is a creative program that utilizes one-on-one and group mentorship to assist parents in becoming better parents to their children, overcoming obstacles, and stabilizing the family structure.
- Adults of Purpose is a costumed designed leadership curriculum is provided to adults enrolled in our centers, developing a mission mentality and incorporating evidence-based guidance, providing adults with an inspiring approach to shaping their hearts and minds by giving them a deep understanding of their life’s purpose.

Our mission teams consist of national and international missionaries who are passionate about bringing transformation to cities and nations. Mission teams go out into the streets on a daily basis in places consumed by prostitution, street children, drug addiction, and extreme poverty.

A voluntary, strategic alliance to enhance our ability to achieve a common purpose by sharing risks, responsibilities, resources, and rewards, transforming communities into havens of hope. The Hope Movement Alliance builds relationships with local churches, ministries, and non-profits, meeting on a monthly basis to unite in prayer and encouragement and develop strategic plans of action and unique life-transforming programs, sharing resources, conducting missions activities, and developing leadership through our specially designed curriculum, working together to bring lasting change to communities throughout the nation.
