Helping Guatemala Recover

Volcan de Fuego, which means “Volcano of Fire,” exploded violently on Sunday, shooting thick plumes of ash miles into the sky that rained down on residents and sending superheated pyroclastic and lava flows barreling through nearby towns.

The Hope Movement has been working in Guatemala for over 10 years and is our second home filled with people who are important to us. By the grace of God our project were not affected directly but over 85 people have lost their lives and hundreds missing due to the recent volcano eruption. Complete families were wiped out by the fast moving lava and mudslides. In response to this disaster we will be sending funds to provide assistance to the rescue workers and families. On Tuesday, June 5, 2018 we sent our first transfer to Guatemala in partnership with Pastor William Lopez and Iglesia Genesis to provide food, shelter and resources to those affected by the volcano in Guatemala. The church were one of our feeding centers is located in Villa Lobos is now acting as a shelter for families.
